This high road between Lhasa and Kathmandu combines a discovery of Tibetan culture with the pastoral life of the Tibetan Plateau, in the shadow of giants Everest, Cho Oyu and Shisha Pangma to reach the tropical warmth of the Kathmandu Valley, its rice paddies and villages... In Lhasa or Gyantse, we can approach these great monasteries that have made the grandeur of Tibetan Buddhism. We can also appreciate the great masterpieces that have passed through the centuries and the Cultural Revolution. But we will also go to the remote places where others don’t go, like Ralung, nestled in the heart of the high plateau and feel the immensity of Tibet.

On the way to Nepal, we will follow the great Himalayan barrier dominated by the 8000 m plus summits of Everest, Cho Oyu and Shisha Pangma that we can contemplate from the Rongbuk monastery and the Everest Base Camp. Then, leaving the high passes and the aridity of the plateau, we fall into the gorges of the Bhote Koshi and reach the rice paddies and the lush vegetation of Nepal. A great trip in the footsteps of Alexandra David-Néel.
