EQUIPMENT / THINGS TO BRING
IMPORTANT : For all treks, the bag you will hand over to porters should not have any wheels. Each bag weight should not exceed 13 kg in order to respect the porters who usually carry two bags each (approx. 26 kg).
REGION A : Nepal, Sikkim, Bhutan, Garwal. All other areas when cold and snowy
REGION B : Tibet, Spiti, Ladakh, Zanskar, Dolpo, Mustang. All other areas during the raining season.
EQUIPMENT 1: MID RANGE MOUNTAINS :
- • A -5° Celsius sleeping bag / a Gore-Tex jacket or an anorak / a pair of comfortable leather shoes or a pair of high quality sport shoes / a rain coat
- • Few tee-shirts or shirts for the day time / a warm sweater or a jacket for the evening time.
- • There are limited risks of rain except from July to September.
EQUIPMENT 2 : HIGH ALTITUDE
- • A -20° Celsius sleeping bag / an over coat for the sleeping bag / a duvet jacket/ some high quality polar jackets / some warm gloves / hats / warm leggings / some water proof over pants / a raincoat.
- • There are limited risks of rain except from July to September.
WEATHER :
- Generally : We are in the North Hemisphere at the Latitude of Tanger (Morocco). Thus, we have the same type of climate than in North Africa. Extremes are obviously emphasized with the altitude.
- Very Hot : From May to September
- Hot : March/April and October/November
- Cold : From December to February
Mountains remain dangerous and unpredictable : thunder storms and/or snow storm may occur at any time of the year and at any altitude.

CLOTHES- • A pair of good trekking shoes
- • A pair of light shoes or sandals
- • Some trekking socks (3 pairs minimum)
- • 2 trekking pants
- • 1 to 2 « quick dry » Tee-shirts (not in Cotton)
- • A warm pull-over / a polar sweater or a jacket
- • A mountain/trekking jacket

- • A pair of warm gloves and some wool hat
- • A sun hat
- • A swimming costume (single piece for women)
- • Comfortable underwear
- • A sleeping bag (protection up to -20° Celsius for high altitude ; protection up to -5 ° Celsius in mid ranges)
- • A sleeping bag liner (optional)
- • A soft travel bag (as a sport bag / about 80 Litres ). NO SUITCASE !
- • A bag pack (about 40 litres) to carry your daily stuff
- • A head light and some extra batteries
- • Some walking sticks
- • A pair of polarized sun glasses
- • Strong IPF sunscreen
- • A reusable water bottle
- • Some water purification tablets
