HALF TOUR OF AROUND ANNAPURNA

Designed for those with time constraints, this is a shortened version of the Great Annapurna Trek. Although condensed, the trip still offers magnificent views of the entire Annapurna range. It is still a 17- day trek in the Himalayas!

ANNAPURNA CIRCUIT IN SHORT VERSION

‘Half’ may be a misnomer as it is still a great adventure and still more than two weeks on the trail. From Besisahar, we gradually climb up towards Manang walking through the Marsyangdi valley, going from sub-tropical to the more arid landscapes at 3000 m and higher. As we climb higher, we come across Brahman, Gurung and Tibetan villages. Prayer flags flutter in the wind, a sure sign of Buddhist inhabitants. As we progress, we begin to see Himalayan peaks such as Manaslu, Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna and more. After crossing the Thorong-La (pass), at 5,400m, we enter the lower Mustang valley. You notice dramatic landscape changes: the valley is wider, the land more arid, the mineral colors of the rocks turn from ocher to red, to green. Stark, simple villages such as Jharkot and Kagbeni punctuate the barren frontier. Fly back to Pokhara for rest and recuperation is a relaxed atmosphere.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Diversity of landscapes and ethnic groups.
- Trek across the Thorung La (5,400m).
- The Manangi and Thakali villages of Ngawal, Jharkot & Lupra.
