Everest Base Camp Trek
Everest base camp trek
A trek that should be on the Bucket List of every trekker, the Everest Base Camp Trek is always on the list of ‘Top Ten Places to See in the World’. In a surreal landscape, devoid of vegetation, at the foot of the planet’s highest mountain, the base camp attracts hordes of visitors.
Ascent Kala Patthar
Going through the heartland of the Sherpa people, the trek enjoys views of the most famous Himalayan peaks. Designed for those who dream of being close to Everest without climbing, the two weeks of hiking at high altitudes take you through fabulous landscapes. Add to that the unforgettable views of the Everest range from Kala Patthar, and you have a winner!!
Flying directly to Lukla, the Gateway to Everest in the Khumbu region is quite a start. A spectacular 45-minute flight over the giant Himalayan peaks and you’re good to go. The adventure of a lifetime begins here as you start your trek. The first destination of note is Namche Bazaar (3,440 m), a trading settlement between Tibet and Nepal. An overnight halt here ensures you get properly acclimatized. Then we enter the Khumbu Valley, into the realm of giant, icy peaks glittering in the sun. Along the way, we come across villages with typical dry-stone houses, numerous inscribed stones (manis), stupas and monasteries perched on hilltops that seemingly touch the skies. The sight of countless towering peaks is beyond one’s imagination: Everest (8,848m), Makalu (8,475m), Lhotse ( 8,383m), Pumori (7,145m), Nuptse (7,879m), Ama Dablam (6,856m) and more.
- Charming Sherpa villages and colourful Buddhist monasteries: Namche Bazar, Khumjung, Thengboche.
- Spectacular views from Kala Patthar (5,643 m) and arriving at Everest Base Camp in just 2 weeks.
- The dramatic, spine-tingling flight over the mountains to Lukla.

Patricia et Michel Lefrançois Trip (Voyage) : Everest Base Camp Trek Date of Trip : 17/05/2023
Good morning,
A little feedback from our trip.
It went very well, with good organization, well-selected visits, well-chosen hotels, and a good pace of visits for us.
A small downside: the night at the inhabitant was very, rustic at the level of the room but the welcome was very good and warm. We thank them.
A special mention addressed to our guide, for the quality of his welcome and his support, his kindness, his erudition, his mastery of the French language, his constant attention,... we thank him.
We are planning for 2024 a trip to Tibet in a similar format and at the same time. For 2 but maybe for 3 or 4 adults. When should you be contacted?
With pleasure.
Patricia and Michel Lefrancois.
Michel Chevalier Trip (Voyage) : Everest Base Camp Trek Date of Trip :
From 2011, Base Camp trek is a regular partner, particularly for Annapurna’s base camp and Everest’s base camp circuits. This professional agency became also the leader on tailor-made trips: it can design travels according to any profiles: seniors, families, friend’s trips, couples.... the agency has also remarkable flexibility. It can handle any sudden situations, modify the itineraries according to the adverse weather condition like our helicopter repatriation from Lukla
Thanks to his reliable team, Base camp is a dependable partner.
This year, we have planned to the island peak expedition with them, with a negotiated itinerary according to our expectations.
It’s an agency that knows how to be connected with the majestic lands.
Thanks a lot to jasmine and her team
Marc Favier Trip (Voyage) : Everest Base Camp Trek Date of Trip : 15/11/2021
Base Camp (BC) is a very, very good agency for organizing treks in Nepal. The staff are at least trilingual (Nepali, English, French). I organized a Manaslu tour for a group of 8 French people in October 2018 It went very well. I am leaving this year (October-November 2021) 4 weeks at Khumbu. Here again, the help provided by BC and in particular Jasmine has been very precious for this somewhat complicated year to travel to Nepal. A very special mention for Jasmine and her great, great professionalism, her rigor ... her kindness ... ALL MY SINCERE AND WARM THANKS
Back in France, I take some time to give feedback on the Base Camp (BC) agency which helped me for the 2 treks made in October-November 2021 (special period of the late reopening of Nepal) :
3 passes trek in Khumbu-Everest Base Camp-Kalapatar with the young guide Kancha DUMJAN (26 years old) of great human intelligence.
Langtang-Helambu crossing trek alone; more precisely Dunche-Malamchipul via Gosainkund lakes.
The agency has more than largely fulfill its commitments, with many relevant decisions and very concrete actions that it would take too long to talk about.
I would still like to quote and send my sincere and warm thanks to:
Jasmine from BC, always present on WhatsApp, to regularly discuss the options I wanted to take during the 4 weeks I spent in Nepal and help me make them a reality;
Kancha without whom the 1st trek would certainly not have had the same flavor!
I look forward to meeting them again in October-November 2022 for another 1 month stay in Nepal.
