The wonder continues with the crossing of the Damodar Himal glacier with a pass at over 6000m and the possibility of climbing Saribung Peak (6 346m), before reaching the isolated Naarphu valley and visiting the splendid hilltop village of Manangis of Phu gaon.
This circuit without great technical difficulty, however, requires excellent physical shape because of the fast pace and the many days at very high altitude.

About 40 minutes of flight. We are at the foot of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri. Meet members of the Nepalese team who will accompany us on this adventure, formalities for entering Mustang and loading mules. Walk along the valley to reach our evening stage, a village with Tibetan architecture, gateway to the ancient kingdom of Mustang.

It takes three hours of walking to reach Tangbe, a magnificent village with its beautiful Chortens and its maze of alleys. The surrounding high cliffs are full of caves and overlook the valley which changes its name to become the Mustang Khola. Another 1.5 hours walk to reach Chhuksang at around 3000m altitude. Arrival in Chele where we spend the night.

Climb to a pass at 3,700m from where we see the spectacular village of Gyagar. Descent to Samar at 3,600m from where we take the pilgrim path, passing by a sacred cave and descent from a canyon raid. Then we go up another canyon to Shyangmoche perched at 3,800m. Passing a new pass to reach Geling where we set up camp.

Walk to the village of Chunkar. Passing a pass over 4,000m and descending to Gemi, a magnificent village in its green setting. Then we take a balcony path to reach Dhakmar.

Passing the Mui La pass at an altitude of 4,170m and crossing to Lo Gekar with its 11th century monastery of Ghar Gompa. Then in the middle of the barley fields, we reach Tsarang where once king used to live. Visit the monastery.

At the exit of the village one can see cave dwellings which overhang the valley. Climb to a very beautiful pass at 3,900m which dominates the valley of Lo Manthang, former fortified capital of the mythical kingdom of Lo. The small city is protected by surrounding walls and is accessed by one of the two doors that mark its entrance.

The small town of Lo manthang was founded by Ame Pal in 1380. Rest and visit of the city and its monasteries, Namgyal Gompa and Tynghar.

Go up to the pass above the small town then a path leads us into a valley to the Mustang Khola. Some delicate passages. After passing a steep pass we descend into the middle of the fairy chimneys and overlook the village of Dhie. Magnificent descent through lunar terrain to the hamlet. Rise of a tributary of the Kali Gandaki which is crossed by a suspension bridge, up to the village of Yara.

We leave Yara by a wide gorge surmounted by very important cave dwellings. Crossing Gara where we stop and then walk to the village of Luri Gompa, "Gompa" means monastery.

Beautiful stage by ridges, crossing a pass at 4,900m and walking in a very beautiful landscape to the shelter of Ghuma Thanti.

In an arid universe of altitude and by the passage of two passes over 5000m we make a long and trying stage. Splendid view of the Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and its close neighbor, the Tukuche (6,920m). Our two passes are at 5,300 and 5,500m above sea level! Walking in difficult terrain.

We pass at Damodar Kund lake, a major pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists. Here the trails are not very marked and our sirdar (local guide) is very appreciated to avoid us the painful passages. Then we join the course of a torrent coming from the glaciers by a lateral moraine. A large Chorten built by Japanese sits in the middle of the base camp.

Here we go to join the universe of glaciers and altitude. Ascent of the long moraines and crossing of magnificent forests of penitents. Carrying of all our material and altitude equipment We are at the end of the world!

Nice ascent of the glacier of about two and a half hours to the pass. Then and to reach the beautiful ridge which leads to the summit of Saribung we take snow slopes at 30 °. Summit at 6,328m above sea level! The panorama is breathtaking.
During our ascent the rest of the team crosses the pass and sets up camp on the other side of the mountain where we join them by a delicate descent on the glacier then by complex and testing moraines.

Long descent following the rivers flowing down from the surrounding glaciers. Crossing torrents which sometimes requires getting your feet wet and then going up on a moraine path which leads us to the old abandoned hamlet of Ngoru at around 4,400m. Then we reach the beautiful village of Phu. The houses of this Bhotia (Tibetan) village have flat roofs and are organized in an original arrangement.

To reach the country Gurung we follow the beautiful rice fields of the region. The valley opens at the confluence of the two great rivers of the Ngadi Khola and the Marsyangdi. The landscape is now very agricultural: terraced crops shaped for centuries by Nepalese peasants.
